Brooke & I took a portrait last night and it turned out well. She looks great as usual. We have been watching the Showtime series "Dexter" recently and have reached the half way point through season 3. We are watching in high definition with our "Roku" box. If you haven't heard of Roku and you love movies and tv series you should check it out. It works over wired and wireless internet and is a breeze to setup (www.roku.com). I recommend it highly.

Adobe Photoshop has been used for many years for photo editing. I personally find it a cumbersome program, albiet very powerful. For those that have not gone through formal photoshop training (this includes myself) or can't stomach the cost of Adobe Photoshop, there is an alternative.

Serif PhotoPlus X3 (www.serif.com/photoplus/) is a powerful photo editor and can perform the most common photo editing tasks with ease. One of the best parts is that you do not need to spend lots of time researching how to perform a certain actions. Easy access to specific functions are a few clicks away (see example above).

After installing the PhotoPlus X3 I used it for 30 - 45 minutes and produced the results below.

Brynlee Celebrated her 7th Birthday this month! She asked to have her birthday party at Taco Amigo on State Street in Pleasant Grove.

Naturally she ordered an Oreo Milkshake and enjoyed an Avatar cake for desert.

Grandma and Grandpa Dean were there along with her cousins and best friends Ariana & Ava Trimble.

Brynlee, Brooke & I went to see James Cameron's Avatar for a second time tonight (Non-3D Version). We are fans of the film. If you haven't seen it yet and plan to, be sure to see it in RealD 3D. It was quite an experience when we saw it the first time and while it takes a moment adapt to the 3D experience it is well worth it.

Since we first saw the movie Brynlee's Grandma Dot has given her several Avatar action figures, creatures and vehicles. Brynlee and I play Avatar's almost everyday.

Hello Everyone,

Brooke, Brynlee and I went to the west hills of Utah County today to test out the new hand gun I purchased earlier in the week. Brooke would like to take a concealed weapons permit class. She now knows how to load the magazine, arm the gun and fire away. Here is some of the video. Brooke did pretty well for her first time shooting a hand gun. I have shot a hand gun one other time (.45 Ruger). It was a lot of fun and Brooke and Bryn had a great time. Enjoy the fun video footage!

Time for a post. Yes without pictures. I still DO NOT know how to look for the pictures on this computer of ours. InTeReStInG! We are BUSY! I am now at the point that I DO want life to SLOW DOWN! Bryn is busy with dance and gymnastics, and most importantly playing with friends. Rick is busy as always with work, working on the computer, working on fixing our dirt bikes, and just being busy. I am busy with work. I just got an airbrush tanning machine. It is awesome. I am loving it, and so are others. So, come on over and get tanned. I am pretty sure that you will love it too. It only takes 5 minutes to be tanned head to toe. YEAH! I think that we are pretty much DONE traveling for the summer. We are wiped out from vacations. Hope you all are enjoying your summer!!

WOW! It has been a while since I posted and updated the blog. Rick and Bryn have been out of town, and return today. TODAY is also Fathers Day. Happy Father's Day to you DAD and RICK. Being a mom is the best experience that I have had in life. I know from experiencing my close relationship with my dad. My dad has been a man that has lead me by his example and knowledge and love. Today we spent most of the day outside. I rearranged the garage and asked Brynlee if she wanted to break out the old motorcycle and go for a ride. For those who are not aware, we purchased a motorcycle for Brynlee last year and she was quite intimidated by the size. Now a year later this fantastic 6 year old spent the better half of the afternoon riding circles around the house. She absolutely loves it and wants to ride some more. :)

Life has been busy and I have not found time to blog. Now that the summer is upon us, our little family has become even busier. Here is a quick update on us...Bryn had her dance recital about a month ago, Rick's work took us to Vegas for 5 days, Bryn tried out for the dance team and made the team, Bryn is on the team for gymnastics, I picked up an extra day doing hair, I got certified in hair extensions, we are in the process of finishing the salon and our basement, I got to be a substitute in Bryn's kindergarten class twice, I am leaving on an all girls cruise, and Bryn graduates from kindergarten next week! I will post pictures of everything that I mentioned when I get back from the cruise. I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather that we are FINALLY getting. I'll be back to post in about 2 weeks.....

We took off to Roseville California to visit with Rick's family last week, and now we are home. It rained the whole time, which I so enjoyed because I LOVE the rain. I was going to keep a log of how many times we went out for food, but I didn't keep up on it. When we go to California, there are 3 things that repeat themselves over and over. They are: visitng family, EATING, and sleeping. Without fail, Rick and I return home with an extra 8-10 lbs. Bryn got the croup while being out there, and is home sick today getting over her croup. Rick wired up many computers, and enjoyed his time with family. Now we are home getting back into our daily routines.

Poor Rick and Brynlee...they have both been sick today. Rick had a dizzy spell and actually fainted, and Bryn has pink eye, possibly. I will be taking her to the doctors tomorrow to get the eye checked out. Rick has been taking it easy all day, ya know, playing rock band. He has been sitting/laying on the couch instead of standing and rocking out. He has had a caugh all week and a soar throat. Hopefully he is on the mend. I had the freaking stomache flu last week. So we have all taken our turn of being under the weather.

Brynlee, not to be outdone by herself with "shower handstands", has taken an interest in playing the guitar on Rock Band. She started off with the practice mode at a reduced speed setting and now she can play at full speed.

Here are a few of my weaknesses. I hardly eat and drink these few items, but when I do, I find it a struggle to just "sample". My favorite potato chip is Lays Sea Salt & Vinegar, drink, Dr. Pepper, and candy, See's Butter Scotch Square. Oh those darn chocolates just melt away in my mouth. I HIGHLY recommend these these 3 items!!

This morning I woke up hyper, yet again. I put on this outfit purposely. Notice that I am wearing a pink fuscia with red, and then a torquise necklace that cannot be seen in this picture. I was laughing and giggling and then came into the office where Rick was and showed him what I was laughing at. Of course Rick didn't get a kick out of it like I apparently did. Rick and I were getting ready to go grocery shopping and so I am laughing at the whole idea of the outfit and then Rick having to be seen with someone who totally is mis-matching. Anyhow, here is Rick and I. I LOVE to try and get Rick to laugh at all the many odd things that I laugh at throughout the day.

About a week ago, Bryn came home with a homework assignment. Actually, it may have been 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, here we are, the day before it is due. It is a really good thing that Grandma Jolene is in town. The 3 of us started on the poster at 3:00 pm, and the 3 of us just finished the "100 Things" poster at 9:30 pm. What a team we are!! I turned 31 this year! HOLY COW!! My day was awesome. I woke up hyper and excited to celebrate. Before Bryn headed off to school we took this picture together. She told me "You are the silliest mom ever today!!" After dropping her off at school, my dad took me to breakfast. I spent the whole day with him. He ran errands with me, went shopping, and didn't even complain once! After picking Bryn up from school, the 3 of us went to the new PG rec and walked the track. Then the 3 of us came home and my dad got a hair cut and a nose wax! That is right. A NOSE WAX. If you have not had your nose waxed, I highly recommend this. Despite what you may think of the pain, you will be pleasantly surprised. My neighbor Steve came and got his hair cut and colored. My mother-in-law flew into town. At 7pm my family came over for some yummy Costco cake that I have been craving. My day was a great day! I LOVED every part of my day. Even the turning 31 part. Thank you to everyone who made my day special!!

So I got tagged with 6 random things about me......

#1-I am not a very anal person, but when it come to loading the dishwasher, I do appreciate organization. When it comes to the silverware, this is when I get real anal. I like all of the different groups to stay with their groups.

#2- I LOVE doing laundry. I LOVE the fresh scent of the clothes and LOVE the warmth of clothes. I LOVE the look of the clothes too.

#3-I LOVE the number 3. Maybe it is because I was born on the 3rd. Whatever it is, 3 has always been my favorite and lucky number.

#4-I LOVE going to the dentist. I used to freak out and get really nervous and anxious when I would have dentist appointments, but now I LOVE going.

#5-I LOVE to people watch. People are so entertaining to me.

#6-I can't sit at the computer longer than 20 minutes. I get ancy and my back starts to ache. So I am signing off b/c I have hit the 20 minute limit.

This is Rick cooking our breakfast burrito's this morning. Boy were they yummy!! I am not the nicest wife...I woke up from my late night with Tammy, and walked into the kitchen, not feeling like making breakfast. Rick comes in, grabs for the cereal in the pantry, pours himself a bowl, and out of my mouth comes "Oh, you're not making eggs for us this morning?" Feeling like, Hey! I send you and Bryn off EVERY morning with waffles, or pancakes, or oatmeal. I felt like taking a break today attitude. I walk into the bedrooms to put the clothes into the drawers, and back into the kitchen to start on breakfast and BAM! Rick is pulling all the fixings out of the fridge and right on it making our breakfast burrito's. What a nice husband.

Last night I was a "Groupie" with my friend Tammy and her entire family. We all went to Velour, a chic club down in Provo where bands get together and play their music to the crowd. Tammy's nephews, Kyle and Trevor, released their first album last night. We all went to support them, cheer them on, listen to their style of music, and enjoy the college dating, hangout atmosphere. I am not too familiar with what category their music would be listed under. The music sounded very similar to the"Once" soundtrack. Their band name is "Desert Noises". I did purchase their cd, and I am really enjoying their sound and what they produce. They blow me away with how young and talented they are. Let me know if you would like a copy.

I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks. So I found the most recent picture that I took. This is Bryn vacuuming our family room. This particular day all Bryn wanted to do was clean. She vacuumed. She cleaned the toilets. She dusted. She swept. And she helped me fold the clothes and put them away. The whole "cleaning" time she would ask again and again "What can I do next?"

Bryn's Shower Wound

This morning Bryn took her first shower all by herself. I proceeded to periodically check in on her. After the fourth time of checking on her and knowing that she had successfully shampooed and conditioned her hair and bathing herself, I took off into my bathroom to get ready for the day. To bring you up-to-date with Bryn, she is very good at entertaining herself and majority rules that she is quite animated when she entertaines herself. While I was in my bathroom, I hear a cry, although I am uncertain if she is playing with her bath dolls and one of them is "injured", but I go to see what she is up too. When I looked into the shower, Bryn is hunched over on the floor of the shower whimpering. I ask her if she is okay and as the seconds are passing by, blood begins to run to the drain and Bryn begins to panic and cry loudly. I grab a towel and wrap her up and begin to ask her to calm down so she can tell me what has happened. As she is working on calming down, behind her tears and sadness, she tell me "I was doing hand-stands in the shower". My silly Bryn LOVES gymnastics. If she sees an opportunity to practice her cartwheels or handstands, she will take it. This Hand-Stands in the shower business came to a quick halt this morning as she has told us she will not be doing them in the shower anymore.

What a fun week Bryn had had turing 6! Monday night she had a little birthday party up at Boondocks. The eventful night was a blast playing in the cove and all of the many video games, yummy pizza, and her "Spiderwick" cake. On her actual birthday, the 14th, she got to eat a donut for breakfast, have treats in school, treats at gymnastics, and got to experience "Walking with the Dinosaurs". In the mix of all the excitement, Bryn had the impression that because it was her birthday, homework did not apply to her. WRONG! Though she had a great birthday this year, she was torn apart about having to do homework. I have really enjoyed watching Bryn get ready to turn 6. She is a delight to be with. She is a bubbly, energetic, giggly girl. I am grateful and lucky that she is such a GREAT girl. Very rarely is she naughty. She makes friends easily, and loves to be with family and friends. She is my little buddy and LOVES to be doing GROWN-UP things like: laundry, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, moping, and the cooking. She is a good BIG sister to Zurich our little dog. I feel so blessed to be Bryn's mom and blessed to have her in my life. I LOVE YOU BRYNLEE!!

Poor little Zurich hasn't been feeling well. Last Sunday Bryn and I cleaned out Zurich's room to disinfect anything that may be causing him to be sick. On Friday, Bryn and I took Buddy to the vet to get checked out. Come to find out, he is just getting old. Zurich is only 7, but in dog years he is 53. CRAZY! We sure do love our Buddy. Every February he gets put under to get his teeth cleaned. Boy does he HATE it. And boy do we LOVE his fresh clean mouth.

Over the Chrismas holiday break we recieved a pretty big shipment of Omega-3. On Friday we decided that we had better start getting it done. While Rick and I counted and bottled the pills, Bryn put lids on and stacked them up. Bryn loves to help out and even gets paid!!

Do you Freakin' Love this? I woke up earlier than usual to get myself to my dentist appointment. I admit that I was nervous about driving in this crazy snow, but boy do I LOVE the snow. It has literally been snowing non stop for over 24 hours now. I LOVE IT! Needless to say, we have not beat Mindy in snow plowing the drive. Her and Ryan have plowed theirs 5 times, and we have only plowed ours 3. Bryn has had a blast playing in the snow and assisting me in plowing the drive. I am beginning to think that she loves the snow just like me. I have got to download the video tape I got of Zurich diving through the snow. The snow is deep enough to cover his enitre body. Bryn and I bust a gut watching him run like thunder through the snow.

On New Years day we headed over to the Peaks Arena to enjoy a few hours of ice skating. Bryn has a knack for ice skating. She is a determined young lady. She enjoyed the ice and showing off her moves to Rick and I. After the many laps that she made on the ice, and after arriving home, she deserved her well earned 4.5 hour nap.

So, it finally SNOWED!! I LOVE the snow. I am already looking forward to the next snow fall; and the next snow fall and so forth. I LOVE looking outside my windows and doors to see the beautiful white covered world that we get to live in. I don't even mind shoveling the snow that covers our driveway and walks. This way I get to chat with my neighbors while we are all out shoveling! Thank you Andrew for beating me to shoveling last week, and thank you Ryan for plowing our house...TWICE. (Maybe this is why I don't mind shoveling our walks. There are generous people doing it for us.)

Bryn performed at her first gymnastics recital. Before the recital started, she began telling me that gymnastics was boring and she didn't want to do it anymore. I know that she loves gymastnics and I was pretty sure that she was saying that silly nonsense because she was nervous. After warm-ups, the recital began. She did her winter dance with the group of girls on the floor. I have decided that Bryn does a very good performance under pressure. I could tell that she was nervous, but as the dance came to an end, I could see that she was really liking to perform. Each girl did their beam, bars, and vault routine individually. Bryn picked right up on the attention of a bunch of people watching her and enjoyed the applauses and attention. She did a great job performing. After the recital was over, I asked "Bryn, do you still think gymnastics is boring?" She replied with," Mom, I love gymnastics. I only told you it was boring because I was scared."

THANKFUL THURSDAY...A very good friend of mine had this on her blog a month or so ago. Today while I was doing hair, I was thinking of many things that I am Thankful for. I had my cute friend Monica sitting in my chair, and just being in Monica's presence brings much happiness and love to my heart. I have had SO many great experiences recently, which when I take a moment and stop thinking about my everyday trials, I am comforted and brought to the realization that I have SO MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE in my life. So, here I go...I am thankful for my parents. My mom has one of the most kindest hearts of anyone I know. My dad is a very simple, compassionate person. I am thankful for my two sisters Amy and Angela. I am lucky to live close to my sister Amy. She keeps my spirits up and is always ready for a fun time. After being with her, I am uplifted and ready to take life on. Ang lives in Cali, but is one of my most favorite people to talk to on the phone. She always puts a smile on my face. My cute neighbor Mindy. She is so upbeat and calm. She has helped me out so much. I am so blessed to have her for my neighbor. I must say that I am so lucky to live where I live. I LOVE all of my neighbors. Each one of them mean a lot to me. I am so thankful to be Bryns mom. Even though today Bryn and I have been butting heads, I am grateful for every moment I have with her, even the hard ones. I am thankful for Rick. When I hear him on the other end of the phone while he is at work and I can tell that he is enjoying his day. I am thankful for my little dog Zurich. He thinks that he is one of the kids. I am Thankful for many people who I haven't even mentioned. I truly know and feel that each person who is in my life is someone who is special to me. Thank you for being a part of my life.

"Twightlight". Yes I have seen the movie. Twice. Amy and I decided to follow the crowd. Her and I saw it Saturday morning. I must say I enjoyed the movie. I did not go with any expectations. The best part of the movie for me was hanging out with my fun, fun sister. I saw it for a second time on Sunday with my girlfriends Saranne, and Jamie. Who, by the way, are obsessed and were seeing the movie for their 4th time.

I went on a date with my aunt Lori to the Jazz game. She is a true Jazz fan. We had great seats and she taught me about our "Utah Jazz". Before the game, her and I met at the Gateway and went shopping. We ate dinner at AppleBee's with desert served first. What a fun night I had. Thanks Lori for the invite. I know that Halloween was a couple of weeks ago. I felt like posting this picture of Bryn carving Rick's pumpkin. Bryn and I attempted carving this BIG pumpkin which we did not finish carving b/c it was too thick. The night before Halloween was a crazy night for her and I. Boy was I in a bad mood. I was feeling overwhelmed with getting Bryn's costume all picked apart with the seem ripper. Who would have thought that tearing up clothes and making the clothes look ragedy would cause someone to get so frustrated? Thank goodness that night came to an end.

Due to the nature as to how eduacated I am with computers, I do not know how to copy and paste my uncles obituary picture to my blog. My uncle Vic passed away last Tuesday due to a motorcycle accident. He is the oldest brother in my dads family, and has 8 children. I have many thoughts as to what my cousins may be feeling at this time in their lives experiencing the death of their father. I don't even want to wonder what it would be like to lose my dad. Though because of losing Vic, the thought crossed my mind. I wonder what I would feel if I lost one of my sisters or even both. And I have wondered the pain that my grandma has experienced having lossed 3 children. My prayers and thoughts are with my family and loved ones.

My dad spoke at the funeral service. Here is a poem my dad wrote a while ago. He shared this at Vic's funeral.
Death??
Death?? Oh yes!! I'm familiar with him
He has taken my brother(s), my sister, my friend
He has taken my father, my granddaughter too
He has taken the old, he has taken the new.
And each time he came he tore me a part
and left me with such a large hole in my heart
but all you who loved me knew of my pain
and helped me until I felt normal again.
So each day I pray and thank God above
For each one of you and all of your love
and I thank Him for each of those dear ones who've died
for they each added joy and brought strength to my life.

Rick and I will be celebrating our 8 years of marriage tomorrow, the 21st. As of right now we do not have any plans. (What the?). I wanted to make a post about Rick. He is a fun, spontaneous guy. For those of you who don't know him, he is pretty serious, but is always up for a good time. He is a wonderful dad to Brynlee. Him and Bryn are the best of buds. He is a very hard worker. He is very smart. He thinks about everything. He has an answer for everything as well. Even if he is not passionate about "something", whatever it may be, he will find every little detail about it. He loves to ride his motorcycle and tries to get me to go up to the "Larry H. Miller" track to learn how to ride. (I am not passionate about riding for myself), but I LOVE to see him so into riding. He is a genuine person and VERY honest. He will always give his opinion. He is caring, and has a soft spot in his heart for many things. Happy Anniversary Babe.

These days this is pretty much how Bryn likes to spend her time. Up-side-down. She LOVES to be doing handstands or hanging up-side-down. She is in gymnastics and gets to practice a bunch of tricks. Her favorite event is bars. She is really good at the bars. For the past year she has talked about how her knees have been hurting. So I finally took her to a specialist about her knees. The doctor checked her growth plates and they checked out just fine. He deiscovered that her quads and hamstrings need some strengthening. Bryn had physical therapy and now she gets to do some fun strengthening excerises for her quads and hams every morning and night.

My kickboxing friends and I cheered and supported our amazing friend Jamie Ellis on at the "Fitness" finals. As you can see, there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into building up one's body to compete. She had an outstanding performance, and her results are amazing. She placed 4th in the state. WAY TO GO JAMIE!!

Last weekend as I drove around doing errands, I couldn't help but stop and take in the beauty that is around me. I saw the clouds that were sitting beautifully on top of our amazing mountains. I LOVE this time of year. I stopped and hung out with the baby cows, horses, and a cute little goat while they all grazed together. I feel so lucky and blessed to have many, many beautiful creations around me. This last picture is my parents home. I LOVE this picture because this is the home that I grew up in and have many memories and Love.

Last night I had a headache. Bryn, with her special powers soothed my headache and made it go away. She has many special powers. Last night she used her voice and sang me a song about headaches and how to feel better. I love to hear her sing and make up her own songs. I always get a big smile and instantly feel happy no matter what. What would I do without her? She is REALLY good at soothing a lot of things.

One of the activities that we, my cousins, aunt, nephews, nieces, parents, sister, and Bryn and I went to was "This is the Place", and a visit to Liberty Park. It was a great day for me b/c I enjoyed being with my loved one's and learned a bit about Brigham Young.

I finally chopped Brynlee's hair off. A grand total of 12 inches will be sent to Locks of Love.

I did what I could to capture the video from the seat I was in, however there was lady of elderly years with a fro moving her head back an forth in front of me. We went and rode motorcycles this weekend. Brooke for the first time rode out on the open dirt. As you can see she picked up on it quite well. Before you know it, she will throw out table tops and superman jumps with ease.
